The José Ramírez SPR is definitely a wonderful and very rare masterpiece. Completely handmade with the best wood selection there is, this classical guitar has an elegant and sophisticated sound that matches perfectly with its aesthetics and decorations. It is mind blowing how inviting the instrument is and how its compound evokes a fine musical mixture between past and present.
Its name stands for Semi-professional, but that's just a nomenclature to identify it as an instrument that's just under the Ramírez concert line. The top is made fully at the shop in Madrid, while the body is assembled at another factory by expert luthiers in Spain. It then comes back to the hands of the guitar makers at Ramírez, who, under Amalia's supervision, make sure it's as perfect as can be.
The SPR has an extraordinary voicing, intonation and register. Its sound is clean, deep and enchanting to say the least. Good sustain and good projection. Firm basses and sweet lively trebles give this classical guitar a unique personality, plus its low action and spacing make it more versatile than one can imagine for a traditional template design.
Don't forget to order it with a Zero Glide Nut!
