Keith Watling

 

Keith Watling started his musical adventures being inspired by the love of music shown to him by his parents at a young age. At the age of nine he took up the piano and learned the written language of music.

In junior high school he took up the tenor saxophone and was inspired by the works of George Gershwin. The guitar came into his life when he was seventeen.

Keith has studied guitar at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music where he received two scholarships.

He has studied with Jack Grassel, Dick Eliot, Muriel Anderson,  Bill Stone, Don Linke,  Mark Davis, Berkely Fudge, and Barry Harris.

He has shared the stage with Melvin Rhyne, Brian Lynch, Dean Lea, Dan Schneck, Dick Eliot, Bill Sargent, Paul Spencer, Mary and the Jazz guys.

His recent activities include  the guitarist with Penny & the Jazz Guy, bassist with Julie Thompson and String Theory, 2nd guitarist with Smith Binder Jazz and solo performances in local venues.

Gare Hofstad

 

Gare Hofstad has for many years been an exceptional guitarist, performer, and educator in the metro Milwaukee area and the midwest. He started playing music as a child on the accordion and various woodwind instruments. He attended UW Madison studying music theory and composition. After traveling with bands here and abroad for some years he moved back to Milwaukee and entered the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music where he earned a degree in classical guitar performance.

His repertoire includes a vast array of styles including rock, funk, blues, country and pop specializing in finger style jazz, classical , Latin and other ethnic music. As a professional musician he has shared the stage with a variety of artists/organizations such as Del Shanon, Willie Dixon, Fats Domino, and the Racine Symphony Orcastra. You can see him performing locally with the jazz/latin group Trio De Janeiro, Latin/gpysy-jazz/swing group the Insouciant Guitar and as a soloist or accompanist for parties, events weddings and recitals playing a diverse repertoire.

*Lessons run independently of the Store and are managed by teachers which include scheduling and payments.
